Summary: The rebels jump into the Cometwash system to rescue a rebel operative from Imperial customs. In the process, they destroy an Imperial Gozanti cruiser.

The Cometwash System. Beautiful to observe, it attracts sightseeing tours, but it is also part of a local trade hub heading toward Arda-2 and beyond. Currently within the Cometwash all traffic has been stopped by an Imperial Gozanti cruiser and its two TIE fighter escorts. Luxury cruisers and transports are being screened before they can continue through the sparkling comet tails to the nav buoy. Fourth in line is a smuggler in a YT-2000 who is carrying weapons for the rebel cause on Arda-2.

Sindri was dropping the Citadel into real space, the light of hyper speed flaring off it as real space is achieved, shields firing up promptly. "We got ties." he comms to other rebels in the operation, his voice tainted by static..and the sound of ewok accents. "Captain Yub Yub suggests we let the Ion cannons deal with Ties, and pour our first volley into the Gozanti. Yub Yub."

Galak Klighter sits in the cockpit of the YT-2000, beads of sweat forming at his hairline. Galak understands his cargo and the implications this customs patrol has. It's unexpected and the call was sent out for help getting the precious weapons past the checkpoint and safely onto Arda-2. Galak keeps the ship in positioning, waiting for reinforcements to get closer before making a break for it.

Ruggles is sitting in the turret with a spindly headset on, communicating with the other rebels. It's the Chadra-Fan's very first mission as a crew gunner! "Uh, this is Weasel, there's… a lot of them!"

Sindri burns along the path of a comet tail, skirting in close before firing a missile off and beginning to scan for..well issues. The missile, being -scavenged- off ships they previously shot to pieces, seems to glitch, detonating harmlessly in space and he growls to him self and begins to power up the laser and ion cannons.

Having jumped into system, thier jumps were pretty damn accurate, Jasyn apart of Skull Squadron flies up keeping close to Sindri in the gunship. Manuvering along the comets, rolling his craft and still moving pretty fast, he manages to get a proton torpedo lock on the Gozanti and fires off one of the missiles.

The Corellian's eyes go wide as the Rebel ships push through the cometwash and open fire. "This isn't what I had in mind when I requested backup. But, I'll take what I can get." Galak grunts and spools up the sublight drive on the YT, pushing it out of line and swinging out of the queue—hoping not to be noticed by the distracted Imperial customs patrol.

**When the YT-2000 breaks for it, the TIE fighters immediately go for him, strafing and hitting his shields.

The Gozanti cruiser pulls around, beginning to head for the new threat. "UNKNOWN FIGHTERS, POWER DOWN NOW." Laser cannons fire, striking at least one of the rebel fighters but having no effect. The Gozanti cruiser takes a massive hit from one missile while the other misses; its shields dim.

The civilians stay in line, frightened and waiting.**

Having scored a hit on the Imperial crusier, Jasyn pushes the throttle. He knows he has to get moving and down this big ass ship, he didn't like them, but hey they need to get this ship dealt with. Getting another tone, but than the signal scrambles slightly, Jasyn fires and misses.

Sindri is staying at the engagement range he has chosen, pounding out missiles and watching the displays on the new shield generator, giving a thumbs up..to well, no one. He's also barking at Ruggles. "Start nailing the ties with the Ion cannons. It'll make up for these worthless missiles."

The Corellian grunts as the TIEs move in range and one scores a hit. The ship shudders and Galak plays chicken with one of the TIEs. He squeezes off a shot before they fly by and then hits the throttle. Galak keys his mic and chats with the Rebel reinforcements, "Thanks for the distraction. Let's get out of here. Precious cargo."

One of the two TIE fighters is SMASHED by a laser blast from the deceptively civilian-looking YT-2000 piloted by Galak. They chase him down, one scoring a hit that barely penetrates his shields. Green lasers flash through the cometwash's sparkling background.

The Gozanti cruiser squares up ready for a fight. Both missiles fired at it somehow miss. Its guns continue firing, missing the V-19 Torrent piloted by Jasyn, and hitting the Citadel-class freighter but not piercing its shields.

The V-19 Torrent piloted by Skull 3, rolls as Jasyn pushes the ship hard and has it diving then coming up with a hard climb. Knowing that the underside of the ship may not be all that shielded. Watching the missile streak towards its target, Jasyn rolls the Torrent and streaks past the Gozanti.

Sindri is rather glad he has these upgraded shields, because he's just watching them soak up every thing as he plows into the laser fire and then lets loose with the last missile they had. "I was rather hoping we could secure it.." he murmurs, throttling up to begin approaching the Tie fighters. "Try to disable them, we can tractor them and crack them open to tear out the sysems." He says, watching the missile detonate deep into the Gozanti, pieces flashing out in super heated mess.

Galak squeezes off a few more shots as he passes through the pair of TIEs. They miss, but that doesn't bother the Corellian. He's focused on getting to the Nav beacon before Imperial reinforcements drop in. Galak shields his eyes from the exploding Gozanti and 'Yahoo's!' over his mic. "Great shot. They'll really hate losing that one.'

Ruggles fires his ion cannons from the underside of the Citadel Cruiser. He squeals over the headset as his ion cannons strike home, nearly disabling TIE fighter #2. "I got one!"

**Missiles from the Citadel cruiser and the V-19 Torrent impact on the Gozanti cruiser. While well-armed, the deceptively small patrol craft suddenly cracks in half, erupting in gouts of flame as its reactor partially explodes. Noxious gases float out into the night and ignite, creating terrible explosions against the idyllic backdrop of the system's sparkling comet tails. Imperial gunners and crewmen fly out into space, dying terrible deaths if they weren't dead already from the impacts.

Both TIE fighters move to attack but their lasers miss. Their pilots must be mourning their ride home, since the Gozanti was the only thing with a hyperdrive they could count on in this system.**

With the Gazonti down, Jasyn sees the Ties have closed in on them. «ALRIGHT, taking out Eyeball on my right.» he calls into his comm as he does so, teh TIE lines up on the targeting reticle and he fires a long stream of laser fire, upon it blowing up he rolls through it. «How are you two holding up?» he asks his wingmates.

Sindri starting to laterally drift with the remaining Tie Fighter, slaving one of the Ion Cannons to the same controls as his laser cannons and opening fire. "Lets pop this eyeball or some thing and bounce out. Think you can nail him Ruggles?" he yells out in his ship.

Galak pushes the YT-2000 onward, holding down the trigger on his firelinked turret haphazardly. The shots miss the nearby TIE and Galak shrugs, taking the ship in towards the Nav Buoy. "Thanks for the cover." Galak waves through the cockpit to the nearby fighters.

Ruggles keeps blasting away at the TIEs with his bluish-green ion cannons, hitting again! The TIE he fires at, which is the last left, starts to slow down but still sputters along.

One TIE fighter is destroyed by Jasyn's V-19 Torrent cannons. BOOM. It disintegrates. The other TIE fighter is hit by multiple ion cannon blasts and starts to slow. Its pilot just can't get it to go, apparently. He fires wildly.

Sindri letting loose with another blast of Ion cannons before switching to the Tractor Beam to reel it in to a docking clamp as it were. "We'll jump to an outlying system to pull the parts out and deal with the pilot…if he's alive." The man could have just had his own flight suit fail, but he's plotting a course out and then engages his comm system. "Captain Yub Yub and First Gunner are bouncing out now. Yub Yub Out!" Then he'll take the tie in to bounce.

With the destruction of the Tie, and the other being disabled, Jasyn begins to pull back. «Hey I will keep a look out, do what you nee to do.» he says. The Torrent breaks from the rest of the others and begins a slow circle.

Ruggles taps his headset and squeals over the comms to Sindri, Jasyn, and Galak, "Hey, you got him skipper!" He keeps his ion cannons trained on the stars. "Uh. Skipper, we should go out to deep space and contact our peoples… this thing might have a tracker. They put trackers in stormtrooper armor. I bet they put trackers in this thing. Even if it is fried. We shouldn't get near Arda-2 with this thing."

Ruggles clicks on a more private frequency, but one that Galak can hear. "Get that stuff where it needs to be! Glad we could help!"

Galak keeps the YT-2000 on course and lowers his computer visor as the cometwash begins to thicken in space ahead. He jacks into the system wide commnet and eyes the sensors and recent transmission data, "That Gozanti got a distress call out before its core went critical. Advise that you clear out." He flips over to the Civillian frequency, "You all didn't see anything here today. Remember that." He ends the transmission with static.

Sindri locks in their final course corrections and then wrenches the lever back, sending the Citadel into hyper space, outbound to an outlying area to rendevouz with Rebel Cell members to pull useful salvage off the tie, and deal with the pilot. No doubt even if they can't use the systems, they might get some thing for them on the black market..

Bodies float in space alongside the two hulks of the Gozanti cruiser. Nervous civilians don't want any trouble, so they begin slowly heading for the nav buoy - nobody wants to be here when Imperial alert forces arrive and start asking questions. The TIE fighter that is disabled is easily tractored and clamped. The pilot inside… well, he's not going anywhere.

Galak Klighter starts to calculate the Nav coordinates for the in-between jump before heading back to Arda. He lets the computer sort through the calculations and then punches the lever. With that, the YT-2000 is out of the system and the job is complete. Galak sits back in the leather chair and starts counting his payday in advance.
