After the company lost its maintenance team, it hired a subcontractor, who hired you. The primary objective is to secure the facility, with secondary objectives to restore remote control and to make any necessary repairs. The facility dates back centuries, and was originally designed to function with a crew numbering in the hundreds. But as technology advanced, the facility's functions were pared down to merely maintain a part of the planet's infrastructure. The need for a full-time crew ended, who were phased out centuries ago.
You are currently in a submarine, descending to the facility. Your employer warns that you'll be losing contact soon, so if you have any last questions you should ask them now.
Sindri was sealed up in his flight suit..he's not sure how much it'll help when you consider there is considerable -pressure- if the sub breaches, but he doesn't want to think about that. For once he's letting his suit maintain ambient temperature of the compartment, it tends to get cold when you drop well below the surface. He's mostly checking his blaster pistol, and perusing any facility schematics, in case they find the primary docking bay is sealed or the like.
Galak Klighter leans back in one of the squeaky plastic and waterproof seats, tugging at his diving gear. "This isn't half bad stuff." He murmurs to nobody in particular. Galak then taps his comlink, speaking with the employer before they call out of contact, "Had the maintenance teams been mentioning anything weird lately, before you lost contact?" Galak scratches his head, worriedly.
Sindri does have a copy of the schematics, but it's a bit of a mess as it covers centuries worth of alterations with certain propriatary sections redacted. There are a couple ways of docking—one via a side-mounted port, and one via an underside moon pool.'.
Clover sits in the submarine, doing…well nothing at the moment. Just sitting there and enoying the ride. Well unless you count listening to music, some do, some don't..she listens to some really jazzy music.
'Negative,' the voice over the commlink reports, 'But we only send down a team once a decade or so.'
Drakki really, really did not want to be here, and it shows. Yes, ha ha, laugh it up humans, the feline alien doesn't like the idea of going underwater. One can only imagine how desperate Drakki is to be taking a job in the ocean when he so clearly despises the thought of getting wet. But truth is, he is desperate. Tickets off world don't grow on trees you know. At least not on this planet.
He sits there in the middle of the ship tinkering on his blaster, "Were they eaten by horrid monsters lurking i nthe deep?" He says with sarcasm with out taking his eyes off his work.
'Possible, but *crackle* unlikely,' the commlink reports. The signal is starting to fade fast now.
Sindri perusing schematics by him self, listening. "I find it more likely some thing made them sick. You'd be surprised how many biological weapons were disposed of by dumping them in the ocean illegally. Stasis units drop down deep, no one finds them, then some one poor guy finds one on a sweep near the facility..brings it in, and they unseal it because it might register as a life pod. Then your organs being to liquify and your fur falls out, and black vein worms begin to eat through your reproduction organs." He adds to Drakki.
If the voice on the other end of the commlink had anything to say about that, it's lost in static. You are now cut off from the outside world.
The Corellian raises an eyebrow at the comm chatter but shrugs off the static. Galak has been in worse situations. He looks to the other subcontractors, "Let's get in and get paid. Avoid any sort of…horrid monsters or long lost biological weapons. Sound fair?"
Clover says, "Oh, biological weapons aren't that bad..I'm sure if we come across them they won't be that deadly…" She snickers to herself"

The farghuls ears fall flat as his eye twitches. He doesn't seem to respond, only make odd chittering noises as he imagines the fur melting from his body. He curls his legs onto the chair as much as his portly stomach will allow and slowly rocks back and forth. "Y-yeah. Why not. Things could be worse. I mean, we could be trapped down here with a sub full of idiots. Now that would be bad."
Drakki recovers shortly there after, "I'm sure we will be fine, deadly preasure and toxic waste not withstanding. If we do our jobs right we won't be here for more than an hour."
Sindri is inputting commands rapidly as they close on the facility and begins a slow spiraling descent around it, close to the bottom even, watching various read outs and performing visual checks on the structure. "First things first..every one look alive, if we spot damage from out here, we may not need to dock. If the damn place is flooded, or some thing, we damn well know -what- happened." He says.
Galak Klighter switches his focus to Sindri, "Aye. This might be a quick job if the entire complex is flooded out. Let's hope it's localized. Get in, repair. Maybe…take a few looks around for anything that won't be missed." Galak ends his statement with a wink and then goes back to tapping on his datapad.
The displays around Sindri show him readings of the facility.
Sindri is scowling in his flight suit, scowling to him self. "Clover, can you independently record -that-?" He suddenly asks, pointing at the missing team's sub as they drift beside it, station holding. It's docking seal is damaged, and the sub looks to be flooded, given the angle it has taken towards the ocean floor. "Some thing went sideways here, and I want our own records in case they decide to scrub the sensor logs here, and try to pin it on us." He says and glances behind him. He mostly expects at this point..Clover to shoot him or some thing.
Clover says, "+g a science droid?…why didn't I think of that…L)"
Drakki 's ears grow flatter, if at all possible, as he glances at the screen. "Oh, that can not be a good sign." He pulls at the collar of his shirt, "Take the easy job they said. Just a quick gander through the station they said. You won't ever be in contact with the water they said…" he mumbles to himself.

Clover says, "Record it?…do I look like a newsbot? I can look and see, but no..I don't have a camera…"
Sindri will make sure the room has proper atmosphere before putting the sub into stand by mode and activating the hatch so they can all get out. "Well..I say we start with getting to their sub, see what the feth happened. I'm guessing there is a good chance we'll discover any survivors..if there is any, in that area of the facility." He says.
The submarine surfaces in the moon pool, a large bay surrounded by various bits of machinery and crates. Atmospheric checks check outit's safe to open the hatch. Lights pop on automaticallywell, at least half of them do. A few flicker in and out intermiddently.
Galak stands up from his chair, nods curtly and moves towards the airlock of the submarine. He draws his pistol and once he has confirmation of atmosphere, pulls the hatch latch. "Let's get out there and have a look around. I'm not sure what to expect." With that, Galak climbs out of the hatch and scampers to the top of the submarine.
Tail twitching nervously behind him Drakki is the first to take a brave step…backward. "After you lot. I've seen this movie before. Those on point get eaten first." He says jokingly but…there is a hint of seriousness to his voice.
The airlock's doors flash a warning, but there is an upper hatch that is safe to open to get out on top of the sub.

Sindri skirts around the edge of the sub and bounds across before looking around the room. "Why would they not have a droid crew?" He suddenly asks outloud, mostly to him self. Since it would seem, droid maintence teams would be ideal.
Galak Klighter makes an attempt to jump the gap, but instead ends up sliding down the side of the submarine and into the water. "Well, that's brisk." Galak calls out as he climbs out of the pool and then begins to brush himself off. "This is going to take forever to dry. At least I'll blend in down here, right?"

Or at least that's what Galak intends to do. But the water is COLD and he finds it hard to keep his limbs moving as he wants them to move. He dips below the water.
"Because Droids are expensive." Drakki answers. He hesitates at the edge of the sub. His cat like reflexes are a bit lacking due to his cat like appitite. He takes a running leap, landing on the edge of the pool and correcting himself before he falls in. "I mean-" SPLASH! The cat turns, finding one of their team mates has takes a splash into the water. "Uh…guys?" He says, back facing his allies as he watches Galak appearently sink into oblivion. "Yall can swim…right?"
Galak Klighter struggles a bit as his flight suit and gear weighs him down in the water. He sinks a bit and then begins to struggle against the water. Galak's eyes go wide as he realizes his suit is working against him, pulling him down bit by bit. He conserves his air, thinking desperately for a plan.

Before drawing his blaster again. He seems to have already fired it. Odd, he didn't realize he pulled the trigger. Oh well. It was time to stop blindly panicing and start panicing in a way that was helpfull. He moves closer to the sub, turning a few switches on his death hammer…
Between the splashing and the blaster rife, it appears Ruggles choose a good time to wake up and look out of the upper hatch of the submarine floating in the moon pool. Eventualy dragging himself over to the others, Drakki plops his fat tail down at the enterence of the hallway. "Yeah, tend to the human first. Leave the farghul to his fate!" He hisses, rocking back and forth. Everything. HURTS. His back, his waist, his leg his tail. His tail! Where is his tail! By the force that thing ate his tail clean o- oh wait, there it is. "Did anyone bother to make sure those things are DEAD?" he gestures with his pistol at the lizard that attack him.
Galak Klighter kneels next to Sindri and begins to use some of his basic first aid skills. He isn't familiar with Sindri's anatomy. Corellian Navy only practices on humans. "Uh. Uh. I can't figure this out. The organs are in the wrong places. Lots of blood." He wipes some blood off his hands and in frustration slams his hand down on the deck. He looks to Drakki, "Put a few rounds in the skull. Don't let it wake up."

Ruggles just helps bandage up Sindri's wounds. "What happened to him? You guys just let the skipper get beat up by those lizards?"
Clover hmmms, as she watches all the others seeming to huddle together…"I wonder what thats about." As she turns back, and has a little fun switiching over to barrage mode and opening fire again on one of the scalies. "Hows that…sneaking up on us..yeah, not anymore…"
With a couple shots to the head, the dragons finally stop breathing. Sindri looks like he'll be out of it for a while, but he's been at least made semi-comfortable laying next to the moon pool. There are three open doors—two of which lead to small dark rooms, while the third central door leads to the maze-like corridors of the facility.
The fat farghul slowly picks himself off the floor. He slumps over towards the unconcous beast that tried to eat him. "Well little buddy. As much as I hate cruelty to animals, you did try to take a bite out of my hide." He points his over charged blaster at it's head and chuckles darkly, "At least I can't argue you didn't have good taste."
BLAM!
Ruggles shivers, his flight suit and fur soaking wet. "It is FREEZING down here." He jumps as Clover and Drakki start firing off guns. "Hey, chill out!" The rodent takes out a camoflauge poncho from his pack and drapes it over himself, providing some amount of warmth. He clips his comlink on his lapel. "Uh so, what's the plan?"
The Corellian watches the two lizards get executed and forces a grim smile. He looks to Sindri, "He seems stable. We need to figure out how to proceed. The hallway door is unlocked. We should get Sindri somewhere hidden and then move down the hallway. Let's get this job done and get out of here."
According to the briefing before the mission, the control center would be the best place to run a diagnotic of the base. It'll require walking through a few hundred meters of corridor though.
Clover pssshaaws, "This is chill……" as her claw retracts into its housing. "But this place is dangerous…so I think I'll stay here and protect our ride…don't want to wandering off."
"Job?" Drakki cackles in dark laughter. "You lot still want to do the mission? We got a man down and I'm half eaten here! Mission's over! We should get back in the boat and drive our way out of…here…" He glances over at Sindri…who was piloting their sub. "P-please tell me one of you knows how to opperate the sub. Please please please tell me one of you knows how to opperate the sub…"
He clutches either side of his head as panic sets in, "Oh no, nononononono. Game over man, GAME OVER!"
Ruggles wiggles his ears at Drakki. "How hard could it be? I can fly the sub!" He wipes the water off his blaster pistol, checking its power pack. "Let's go get this done, I want to get PAID."
The Corellian looks around the group, "I can pilot us out of here, don't worry about that. The question is…are there more of those beasts down that hallway? Do we want to scout it and then make a break for it if we see more creatures? Or move down and get this job finished?" Galak rocks back and forth on his feet for a moment, thinking deeply.
The Farghul clutches both hands to his eyes, slowly pulling his fingers down and over his snout. "Let's just get this job done. Like heck I'm going to stay here with the killer robot and a whole bunch of dead lizard to draw more monsters here." And he needed the money, he reminds himself. Oh how he needed the money. The longer he stays on this world the higher the chances those bounty hunters have of catching him.
Drakki would rather get eaten by lizards in all honesty. It would probibly be quicker.
Ruggles starts creeping toward the door, with his pistol out. "I can see without the light. Just uh, let me scout it out."

For the second time that day Drakki screams like a kitten. Pistol pointed at the man's chest he shouts, "Stay were you are!" Of course the man is only human, and appears to be down here for quite some time by his body oder…unless human's naturally smell like they havn't bathed for a long while. But still, lizards jumped at him. LIZARDS man, LIZARDS! He ain't taking no chances, "Who are you! What are you doing here? I…I got a gun and I don't know how to use it so you best just back up bud!"
Popping a glowrod, Galak steps carefully down the wallway and calls out to the mechanic, "Are you part of the first repair team? Excuse my…fellow contractor here. We just got attacked by some huge lizards. We have a man down."
Ruggles also points his pistol at the human, but lowers it after assessing that he is no danger to the repair crew. "Yeah there were lots of lizards ya know. We're here to get things BACK on schedule."
The stranger holds his hands up, and shines his own glowrod a little in his own face. 'Please don't hurt me! I'm.. I'm just a technician. From the first repair team. Those things tore my crew to pieces!' He starts to sob a little.
Galak Klighter tilts his head to the side immediately aware of the danger they could be in, "How many did your team get hit by? We killed two." Galak puts his head on a swivel. He saw too many failed scenarios at the Naval Academy where fleets failed to assess the number of enemy combatants. That isn't going to be Galak.
Drakki cringes slightly, if there is one thing Drakki can't stand it's the sight of a crying human. They look all pathetic with the way their eyes tear up and snot run out of their noses.
It really is a disgusting sight when you think about it. Finally lowering his pistol Drakki says, "What's you're name?"
'Th-there was a third. It… died with my team.' He relaxes a little, but sounds a tad sad. 'Tolo. Torrence Tolo. I managed to contain the survivors in the bay. Completed most of the repairs after that, but the last step meant going in.. in there.'
The Corellian nods carefully, listening to the man. "Consider those survivors dead. And well Tolo, we're here to get you out. Let's get the repairs finished and leave." He offers the man a sympathetic smile.
'Alright,' Tolo replies with a half smile that doesn't last very long. He somberly walks towards the sumbarine bay.

"Wait." Drakki calls outto the departing human, his gun holstering. "Where did these creatures even come from? How did you manage to survive…" he gestures wildly at the dead reptiles in the bay room. "THAT."
Ruggles takes a few odds and ends and wraps them around some bits of technology, creating a makeshift frag grenade from the parts. He holds it in one paw and his pistol in the other, then nods to Galak. "C'mon let's get this done and get out of here. We have wounded to tend to!" He goes forward toward the command center.
Tolo shrugs. He says, 'I don't know. But this base is isolated—perfect place for gangsters to make a trade. I was just lucky I had access to the surviellance systems in the command center and could control which doors were and weren't locked.' He starts to get choked up as he says, 'I saw my crew die over those cameras.' His eyes tear up a little, but he wipes them with his sleeve and regains his composure.
The Corellian continues down the hallway until he finds himself in front of the command center. He waits for the others to catch up. Fiddling with his computer visor to pass the time.
The farghul nods, unable to find more to add that could possibly comfort the man. A small part of Drakki wonders though…if his crew…DIDN'T save the farghul from being torn in half…would anyone cry for him?
Drakki shakes his head before following his party "Hey! I'm one of those wounded don'tcah know!"
And so Galak, Ruggles, and Drakki proceed to the command center, while Tolo returns to the submarine bay where Clover and Sindri await. The terminals and monitors appear to be in working order.

Galak slides his computer visor down and pops his knuckles, he quickly slices in to the station system and pulls data on the station. He searches for the commands available to him and the overall health of the entire complex. Drakki and Ruggles point out several exploits and Galak grins as the contractors work to get a handle on what they're dealing with.
Ruggles says, "Who wrote this operating system? It sucks!"
Drakki points and says, "Oh I know this. This is a Unixian System. Yeah, it sucks."
The system is a bit of a monster, with a good percent of the systems permanently shut down—but that is consistent with the history of this place. The geothermal plant and the infrastructure it powers is in good condition. A few tertiary systems are down. Naturally the docking port is damaged with the airlock permanently flooded, from the other team's sub. About the only thing amiss is some of the log files have been blanked. As you work, the communications lines to the surface kick in. Over the intercom, Tolo says, 'Alright, I finished the bypass. How are things reading on your end?'

Something has been bugging Drakki. Something feels…wrong with this situation. Granted there are deadly monsters loose on the base but that's just another day on Arda. No, he's missed something and when they find log files have been blanked the feeling only get's worse.
The man's words echo through his brain, "I don't know. But this base is isolated—perfect place for gangsters to make a trade."
He switches to another monitor. "I'm bringing up the personal file. I want to know who they sent down here before us…" he doesn't reply to the man on the coms.
Galak taps through the logs and frowns, "There's no logs here that are more recent than three years ago. Something is up. There is tampering going on here. We need to confront Tolo when we get to the sub." Galak backs away from the computer and lets Drakki start tapping away.
Drakki's efforts find no personal files on store in the computer at all.
Galak Klighter says, "I don't think this is going anywhere. Let's get back. Double time. We can confront Tolo."

It doesn't take long to return to the submarine bay. Tolo is unplugging a datapad from a dataport on the station, while Clover stands guard. It appears that a plank has been laid out from the edge of the pool to the sub. Sindri's body isn't anywhere to be seen.

Ruggles follows Galak, keeping his pistol at his side just in case.
The farghul hisses to himself when his search proves fruitless. Instead he does one last sweep on the monitors, just to make sure there is nothing moving on them. Even while running a program on the station to identify life forms abord the station.
Even if the man is innocent and telling the truth, he could always be WRONG. "I don't see anything on the monitors guys…guys?" The cat turns around, eyes wide as he realizes he is once again alone. "Oh come ON!" he departs from the room, lagging behind the others as he limps his way back to them, still jumping at every shadow as if non existance monsters will leap out and devour him at every turn.
Galak Klighter Galak steps into the main sub bay and stops short of the plank. Galak then turns to speak to Tolo, "Hey, Tolo. What happened to the most recent logs? We got to the control room to check the system and couldn't find anything on what's been going on here." Galak tilts his head in a friendly manner.
Tolo tucks his hands into his pockets and says, 'Overload. When the airlock flooded, it caused a short circuit that fried some of the databanks. And after that… I wasn't expecting a rescue, and didn't want to waste my last days of this life filing paperwork.'

Galak Klighter nods in agreement with the fellow human. It's a good enough answer for the Corellian. "Don't blame you. Glad we got here in time. Big damn heroes." He tromps up to the top of the plank and then turns to face the doorway. "Now where is that cat…"
Drakki appears shortly there after. "Sorry about the wait. Got a nasty bite from one of our scaly friends. About that sub…" He says, walking to the sub, "How did that flood?"
Tolo looks at Drakki and explains, 'They saw it coming and tried to close the hatch on it. It got stuck. And in the fight between the hydrolics and raw animal power, the port lost—followed by everyone else. Including me. My death just would have been a bit more protracted, with the slowly starving to death and all.' He looks around and asks, 'You got any food?'
Before entering the submarine, Galak asks Tolo, "Did you happen to see our man when you got in here? We had left him with a droid. That bloodstain over there is his for sure. But we didn't move him when we left."
Tolo nods to the sub and explains, 'Yeah. I helped get him stowed in the sub. He seems to be stable, but I'd like to keep an eye on him on the ride up.'
Drakki peers at the man skepticly. "Riiiiiight." He doesn't trust this man as far as he can fling him. Buuuuuuuuut, if it does turn out the man is some gangster in disuise…what would Drakki do? Shoot him? Hardly, Drakki is many things, murder is not one of them. Most likely Drakki would get shot anyway.
"Sounds good to me. Lets blow this joint and get paid, yah?"
Galak nods happily and steps down into the sub, then moves forward to the cockpit to prepare the submarine for transit. "All aboard that's going aboard!" Galak calls out. Then glances at the submarine controls. "Just like a starship…yeah…" he says to himself.
Tolo is good on his word for now, and does his best to make sure Sindri is comfortable on the ride up.

The submarine submerges and glides out smoothly to the open ocean under Galak's care, followed by a routine ascent to the surface. Tolo is friendly enough on the way up, and makes sure Sindri is taken to a medic as soon as possible. It's only after the two have left does the contractor catch the name of the survivor—and looks blank. 'I don't know of anyone with that name. But the company is satisfied with your work.' He hands out the pay for the job, and makes arrangements on Sindri's behalf to make sure he gets paid too.
